Fathers' Day 2009 in support of Iranians struggling for change—especially for the father whose daughter¹ was so brutally and senselessly murdered as she stood at his side.

1. Internet and media outlets are referring to the young Iranian girl as 16 year-old Neda.

Updated reports indicate Neda is in her late 20s and was with her music instructor not her father. Facts, which make her murder no less traumatic, brutal, or senseless.

Let us remember too that our young guardians are currently dying¹ in two discretionary conflicts³—let our policymakers immediately cease these discretionary conflicts² and bring our guardians home.

Only one problem—point me to those who have started a conflict and did not assert it was absolutely necessary?

1. Are we really going to keep pretending that our mothers' lack of resources is because they refuse to exchange their individual identity for some ridiculous "family values" model rendered obsolete more than two decades ago?

Washington and Lincoln birthdays (Presidents' Day 2009) seems an opportune moment to remind ourselves that while current adjustments shake our nation, its foundation is rock solid

We've selected the right individual, President Obama, to guide our nation as we seek to deconstruct, understand, and respond to these adjustments (some routine; others not so much)—none requiring our isolation or force to solve.

Unfortunately, the persistency period for links to Google Hosted News (e.g. AP, AFP, Canadian Press etc.) is 30 days making it inconvenient to read the current news in the larger context of the past.

Lunog posting will not correct the rotted links as the information (title, date, rotted-permalink) is useful for locating the original news article, albeit with slightly more inconvenience than just clicking through to Google's Hosted News.

Hopefully, soon, Google can correct this deficiency by providing lifetime persistency for all its Hosted News links (may involve negotiations with the original content provider and storage space access)?
