Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) staffer, Vice Admiral John Stufflebeem has been dismissed, pending further review.

Stufflebeem's dismissal resulted from an inspector general investigation into allegations that he maintained an inappropriate relationship while serving as a military aide to former President George H.W. Bush.

Stufflebeem is accused of giving false and misleading information to investigators investigating the inappropriate relationship. He will remain on the OPNAV staff, minus a star, pending review of his dismissal.
