Bush in his May 01, 2003 opportunistic "Mission Accomplished" Iraq speech emphatically declared: "...my fellow Americans: Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

Today, the State Department's Report on Terrorism 2006 reminds us just what Bush has accomplished in Iraq:

"Of the 14,000 reported [terrorist] attacks, 45 percent-about 6600-of them occurred in Iraq where approximately 13,000 fatalities-65 percent of the worldwide total-were reported for 2006."

It is past time for Congress to immediately end the Iraq debacle, not continue funding it.
