Yesterday, both China and Taiwan airlines exchanged first flights across the Taiwan Strait - no big deal for most Americans but for most Chinese and Taiwanese it's a very big deal. 1

Air travel between Taiwan and China is taking place under bilateral agreements promoting better relations and greater links between China and Taiwan - known as the "three big links of trade, transport, mail".
