Congress Must Approve Any Iraq Status Of Forces Agreement

07/13/08

Originally Published on May 31, 2008; Updated and Republished July 13, 2008:

The administration must submit for congressional approval any Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). This will prevent all agreements (secret or otherwise), whereby the thugs in Saudi Arabia fund1 American troops as a private Iraqi mercenary force.

If the Iraq SOFA is not submitted for congressional approval, Congress must enact legislation declaring null and void any Iraq SOFA negotiated by the administration.

In America, We the People through our representatives in Congress have the final say on all issues of war and peace, not some rogue idiot president, declaring himself a unitary executive (aka king) who decides to fight and fund his own private war!

-----notes-----

1. There's method, as well as madness, behind this administration's oil pricing policy—think in terms of a secret Nixonian slush-fund doled out by the thugs in Saudi Arabia.
