White House To Publish Visitors Log

10/31/09

Refreshingly, the White House has reversed its previous decision to not disclose visitors to the White House—the logs will now be posted monthly in a rolling quarterly set.

Hopefully in those cases where the visit is not disclosed an appropriate entry will be made with reference to the policy paragraph (e.g. personal; paragraph two or national security; paragraph 1 etc.).

  • UPDATED 10/31/2009 White House releases six-month log of visitors.

Our president deserves kudos for moving toward more transparency, but this type information should routinely flow to the Internet in near real-time.

We should be able to see who is visiting not just the White House but Congress, Government Agency Heads, Supreme Court, FCC, etc. virtually as it happens.
